Stockport Homes Group is looking for a skilled Management Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team. In this key role, you will provide expert financial advice, lead on service charge setting, and ensure compliance with legislation and best practices.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the service charge setting process for Stockport Homes Group (SHG) and Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council (SMBC) properties.
  • Provide expert advice on service charge policies, ensuring compliance and value for money.
  • Complete year-end service charge reconciliations in collaboration with the Homeownership team.
  • Work closely with various departments to improve financial systems, reporting, and budget management.
  • Accurately capture and allocate costs to maximise service charge income.
  • Ensure correct accounting of sinking funds and collaborate with relevant teams to forecast future costs.
  • Continuously develop financial reporting processes and systems to drive efficiency.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Extensive accounting knowledge, ideally CCAB/CIMA qualified.
  • Experience in a complex financial environment, preferably within housing or service charges.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to working in a fast-paced environment.
