Are you a strategic leader passionate about compliance and building safety? Stockport Homes Group is looking for a Head of Compliance and Building Safety to lead our multidisciplinary team in ensuring the safety and compliance of our 12,000 homes. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact while being part of a forward-thinking organisation.

As the Head of Compliance and Building Safety, you will lead a team to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance across Asbestos, Legionella, Lifts, Gas, Electrical, Fire Safety, and Building Safety. You will take the strategic lead in developing safety case reports for multi-occupied buildings, working to secure building assessment certificates from the safety regulator. Your role will involve overseeing the creation and maintenance of robust policies, procedures, and operational plans to drive compliance and building safety initiatives. You will monitor performance to ensure adherence to relevant standards, regulations, and the Building Safety Act. Additionally, you will manage a customer safety budget of over £4 million, ensuring value for money and quality through effective procurement and contract management. A key aspect of your role will be to champion a positive safety culture, promoting innovation and best practices across the organisation.

To be successful in this position, you will have proven experience in a management role within compliance in the housing sector, demonstrating a track record of high-performing service delivery and effective team leadership. You will have a relevant degree or professional qualification or be working towards one in building safety. You should be aware of internal and external factors that affect compliance and have the ability to manage risks proactively. You will need to be skilled in engaging stakeholders and managing budgets effectively.

The SHG “Be You” approach sums up our belief that everyone has the right to be who they are, and to be that person at work, in line with SHG’s Values. We’re always looking to improve diversity within our teams to enhance this culture and to be truly representative of the communities we work in.

This role will be on Three Sixty hybrid terms and conditions.

We understand that if you don't meet every requirement, you may be hesitant to apply but we still want to hear from you and encourage you to submit an application detailing your experiences, achievements, and the value you can bring to our team.

We encourage an early application as we will interview suitable applicants throughout the campaign and close the advert once we have filled the vacancy.
