The role of the Control Room Operative is an exciting and important new role for Stockport Homes Group (SHG) in the newly restructured CCTV Control Room. The role will take operations responsibility for the organisations CCTV service and ‘Out of Hours’ response in the event of an emergency. 

 

In this role you will: 

  • Provide daily 24/7/365 monitoring of the public space and housing stock CCTV along with responding to fire alarm activations plus providing security for our customers, achieving the best outcomes for the public and our customers. 

  • Undertake these duties at evenings and weekends supporting the delivery of a 24/7/365 service. 

  • Support our Neighbourhoods and Safer Neighbourhoods services, by working pro-actively as One Team to keep tenants safe and secure. 

  • Proactively identify criminality and ASB across the Borough. 

  • Answer OOH calls from customers. 

  • Monitor CCTV for SHG customers in blocks across the Borough. 

  • Respond to fire alarm activations. 

  • Liaise with contractors when faults occur. 

  • Assist GMP and the Safer Neighbourhoods Team with evidence led investigations. 

  • Direct security guards to various locations. 

 

Our ideal candidate will: 

Essential 

  • Work shifts on a contracted working week of 19.25 hours – worked on a rota basis of shifts

  • Be able to successfully apply for and obtain an SIA licence (which will be provided as part of the employment.) 

  • Work collaboratively with customers, the team and colleagues from other services. building up good working relationships that are based on trust and respect. 

  • Have the ability to react to live incidents professionally and in a calm manner. 

  • Have good communication and written skills. 

  • Have an eye for detail and an ability to spot suspicious behaviours and actively monitor situations, relaying key information to the necessary agency. 

  • Communicate effectively using a variety of different communication methods and techniques to deliver clear messages. 

  • Be positive and enthusiastic approach to work in sometimes challenging circumstances. 

  • Be able to deal with different types of workloads and problems, working independently and making decisions confidently with minimal need to escalate. 

Desirable 

  • Experience of Security Services and CCTV operations 

  • Holder of an existing SIA CCTV Licence
