We’re currently recruiting an Assistant Director - Assets and Development to be responsible for the strategic asset management of the group's property portfolio alongside the planning and delivery of the Group’s capital investment and new build programmes.  

The key purpose of this position is to support the continued high performance and growth of Stockport Homes Group and be responsible for creating and overseeing strong and effective teams that provide first-class services to customers.  

 

As the Assistant Director – Assets and Development you will be responsible for: 

  • Be responsible for the effective strategic planning and delivery of the organisation’s capital investment, planned and new build programmes and energy and environmental investment programmes including the development and monitoring of the 30-year Asset Management Plan, Development Strategy and the Climate Change Strategy. 

  • Assess the long-term maintenance and investment needs of the stock for capital investment and new build programmes. 

  • Direct and implement the strategic priorities and plans for property assets 

  • Ensure the delivery of the statutory building and customer safety compliance obligations 

  • Be a strong and effective client to the Group’s in-house contractor providing repairs, voids, M&E and capital works to customers’ homes. 

 

Our ideal candidate will have: 

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience working in the housing sector – public or private  

  • A good level of education, preferably with a degree or professional qualification in the property / construction field.  

  • Extensive strategic planning, project and programme management experience 

  • Customer focused with excellent interpersonal skills required to manage large teams 

  • Excellent levels of financial awareness 

  • Detailed understanding of legal safety and compliance obligations, Homes England policies and procedures and the property and environmental sectors 

  • Full UK driving license with access to a vehicle during working hours
