Location: Stockport (with some flexible working options)

We are currently looking to recruit an Insurance Officer to join our Assurance Team us to be responsible for delivering an effective and efficient insurance service at SHG.

You will be responsible for coordinating information for insurance claim investigations to enable them to be properly defended. You will liaise with colleagues to adequately protect SHG from losses; ensuring there is effective and proactive risk management and continuous improvement which is supported by regular monitoring and reporting.

Our Insurance Officer provides advice and guidance on insurance matters by being familiar with the detail of insurance policies / coverage and the range of services provided by SHG. You will manage casework via the insurance databases (LACHS) and ensure records are kept fully up to date and are accurate.

 

Our ideal candidate will:

  • Have some working knowledge / experience of working in a housing / legal / insurance / claims management environment, including relevant legislation and case law
  • Be an effective communicator, able to explain complex things simply
  • Work accurately, confidentially and to tight deadlines
  • Be organised, able to manage a varied workload and work autonomously – within SHG’s “Maximising our Potential” flexible working offer and be committed to accurate and timely record keeping
  • May hold a CILEX / CII qualification but must be committed to their own learning and development and be willing to undertake any training required for this role
